Marigold and Alpha have been mates for a couple years. She had a few successful clutches with him in the past. There genetics prove to be able to have many different colors of chicks.

My money is on hopefully getting one Opaline girl.

UPDATE: 04/02/08 So far three chicks have hatched with three more eggs to go.

4/13/08 4 chicks in total. Oldest chick should look like dad with the white spot on the back of the head. Second chick is a Blue Dominant Pied. Third and fourth to young to tell still.

4/24/08 Colors of the 4 chicks updated are as follows oldest chick is Skyblue, Second oldest appears to be a Violet Dom Pied, Third chick is a Skyblue Opaline, 4th chick is a Olive Opaline. These are what the colors appear to be as of now. That means the 3rd and 4th chick are girls for sure the first two haven't checked yet.

5/12/08 all 4 chicks have been placed in a different cage the parents wanted to lay again and were picking feathers off the younger two. Everyone is fine and eating on thier own.

5/22/08 The Violet Dom Pied will be kept for future Breeding. The other three have found homes. Marigold is sitting on six more eggs that should hatch in the next few weeks.

More pictures will come later.

06/03/08 5 chicks have hatched in the second clutch so far with a couple more eggs to go. Wonder what colors these one will grow up to be.

06/17/08 6 chicks in total out of 7 eggs. All 6 chicks are doing very well.

06/30/08 Well someone (most likely Alpha) has decided to be very mean and peck on thier chicks. To the point plucking out the rump and head feathers of the second chick within a very short time. I tried everything and the chick did not make it. A couple others also have been plucked though are doing fine. All the chicks have been pulled to ensure their safety. From now on all chicks from this pair will be pulled at a young age and hand raised to avoid this happening again.

As far as colors the oldest is a green. The second was a blue. The third is a double dom pied green. The fourth is a double dom pied blue. 5th chick is a green Opaline the 6th is a violet opaline (I think).
